Morgridge Hall

Envel engineered and manufactured custom UHPC facade panels in a bold, custom Marigold color as part of the rainscreen system. The facade features four unique textured panel patterns, each assigned a designated “top” and strategically rotated during fabrication to ensure seamless visual blending across the building envelope. Using a precision 100° V-bit CNC machining process, controlled Z-axis depth variations created dynamic channel widths and dimensional shadow lines. The result is a digitally fabricated, architecturally expressive Ultra High Performance Concrete facade system that combines custom texture, advanced prefabrication, and long-term performance.

This project also highlights Envel’s ability to integrate UHPC panels with ACM panels fabricated by SHApe Architectural into a single unitized façade assembly. By engineering the required geometry and alignment in the plant rather than on site, the system reduced field labor, improved installation accuracy, and accelerated the construction schedule.
