DESIGNING WITH ENVEL™
Format panels are manufactured in sizes that exceed 24” in more than two directions and are available at up to 72” x 144” finished size (with some flexibility for greater). Thicknesses start from 5/8” and may increase depending upon the selected surface treatment and loading requirements.
Format series panels are available in both face-fastened or hidden fastening attachment systems as supplied by Envel Facade. Find installation details for each below.
Format series panels are available in all Envel™ standard surfaces and colors as well as custom options. Format panels can also be cut to any shape and size and be provided with perforation options.
You can select from our in-stock inventory of molds or we will create a mold to suit the project’s needs, ensuring as little waste as possible.
Sheet goods are manufactured to larger than necessary finished sizes specific to each project and stored until final sizes are supplied by the customer. Once final sizes and quantities have been established, the Envel™ sheets are cut and fabricated to the project specifications.

Aspect panels are plank-style panels that are 24” or less in one direction and up to 120” long. Aspect series panels are available in sizes from 6” x 72” and up to 24″ x 120″ with a range of sizes between. Thicknesses start from 5/8” and may increase depending upon the selected surface treatment and loading requirements.

Aspect series panels provided as face fastened panels are typically manufactured with the fastener holes factory cut.
Sheet Optimization & Usage
Envel Facade maintains a vast library of available molds in a matrix of surface treatments and sizes. Designs should include consideration of the overall number of unique UHPC panel sizes required for a project, and how they will ultimately fit into an optimization strategy for production.
We strive to eliminate waste from the process at every step. The creation of custom mold sizes to suit a project’s specific needs may be more cost-effective and reduce unnecessary waste as opposed to using stock molds. Our ability to create custom molds in-house allows us to quickly react to a project’s specific needs while maintaining optimum efficiency and budget control.

Color Variation & Batch Management
Envel™ panels made with UHPC material are created with natural materials and subject to slight variations in color like standard concrete, stone and other natural materials. We take great care to ensure that these variations are carefully controlled through its manufacturing process. Factors that may influence concrete color include the constituent components of sand, cement, pigment, the quantity of water and initial curing conditions. These are all strictly controlled and quantified to precise quality assurance standards.
Even with these strict controls in place, batch-to-batch variation can and will occur. The designer should understand how this will impact the overall design of the project and consult with an Envel Facade representative to determine how certain colors are expressed with regard to batch variation.
Of course, strategies to ensure that batch variations are evenly dispersed over the scope of the project are also employed for the best overall effect. When managed correctly, the natural variation becomes a pleasing aesthetic feature of the design.
Hidden Fastening and Face Fastening Details
See below for additional information on hidden and face fastening systems available with Envel™ panels.
Hidden Fastener System
Envel™ hidden fastening is compatible with most insulation framing systems on the market.
Face Fastened System
Face fastening can be inset or flush with the face of the panel, and color-matched fasteners are generally not visible at distances of 20′ or greater.
